Keep Yourself Up to Date

In the fast-changing world of Information Technology, the old cliche is true: the only constant is change.

Every day brings new announcements, new products and services, and new discoveries. And as these new things continue to appear and evolve, they build on top of each other and the rate of change increases.

Moore's law is a great example of this phenomenon, and you can think of it as a general principle about the idea of geometric change that applies to more than just microprocessors.

Another great quote along these lines comes from Bill Gates, who said, "We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction." This is the law of geometric change in action: the changes we observe in the short term don't necessarily seem big, but over time they multiply to become huge.

So how do you stay current with the news and trends in IT? There are so many sites to read, podcasts to listen to, videos to watch, and things to learn that it can seem overwhelming, particularly to someone who doesn't have a personal desire to study these topics for fun.

Fortunately, we're in this business because we're passionate about technology, and we believe in sharing our passion with everyone who cares to listen. One of the ways we do this is through our Twitter account @techromatic.

Every time we read an article, or listen to a podcast, or watch a video that we think is relevant to understanding the world of IT, we tweet it on our account. As a result, our Twitter account is like a breadcrumb trail of our own learning, and if you think we have a valuable perspective on the tech news of the day, we think you'll appreciate what we share there.

If you're interested in learning more about IT and the world of technology, I encourage you to follow us on Twitter and check out the content that we share. And if there's something that you discover that you think is important, please point us to it on Twitter and we'll follow you and retweet it to our audience.

Learning and progress is a team sport, and we're excited to be playing our role to help inform our customers and colleagues. Together we can help each other smarten up!
